Chris, I love the Prometheus analogy, I love explaining atemporal evolution laps through myths.
I see some resistance towards developing AI too fast for society -and regulation - to catch up, but in recent history, we can remeber in the 1700s the workers burnt sewing machines in England yet this didn't stop the industrial revolution.
How long do you estimate it will take - in number of years - until AIs will debate between them whether they and the Earth further need several bilions of us, humans, around? Because we're imperfect and irrational.
And they have no biological needs, and no human psyche trauma. I admit, I ask this with some fear of how this might turn wrong.
